Cyber Security Office

Harmonizing space, technology, and innovation for Qatar’s cybersecurity evolution

Introduction

When Malomatia, a cutting-edge cybersecurity company backed by Qatar Diar, needed an advanced and cohesive workspace, they turned to Daya. As Qatar’s only semi-government cybersecurity firm with three global offices, they sought to create an innovative environment for their cyber soldiers. Completed in 2023, this project marked a significant milestone in Qatar’s tech landscape.

At a glance

  • Innovative workspaces: Created specialized "war rooms" and collaborative spaces equipped with advanced technology to enhance problem-solving and communication.
  • Highest screen density: The office features 80sqm of screens, the highest in Qatar, supporting real-time analysis and future branding initiatives.
  • Smart technology integration: War rooms include 360-degree cameras, motion sensors, smart tables, and facial recognition, ensuring a personalized and secure workspace.
  • Enhanced team collaboration: Social spaces and improved layout foster better teamwork and communication, solving previous issues of crowdedness.

Challenge

Malomatia’s existing space was not conducive to the dynamic needs of cybersecurity work. They needed a workspace that supported small team collaborations, multifunctional "war rooms," and managed a massive 80sqm of screens. Additionally, they needed to balance operational space with future growth potential within a limited footprint and handle power load issues.

Approach

Drawing inspiration from modern learning and co-working spaces, Daya designed an office that fosters collaboration and innovation. We created specialized "war rooms" where small teams could come together to solve complex problems. These rooms are equipped with multiple screens for real-time analysis and communication, and they also serve as multifunctional spaces for meetings, equipped with smart technology that adapts to different scenarios—lighting, smart glass, and even the seating arrangement change based on the meeting type.

The office boasts the highest density of screens in Qatar, with 80sqm dedicated to flexible display options. This setup supports both current needs and future branding initiatives. We worked closely with the client to design a Fusion Center, enhancing teamwork and efficiency. Duo rooms were introduced for private discussions, featuring adaptive lighting to suit various needs. The integration of smart technology, such as 360-degree cameras, motion sensors, smart tables, and facial recognition, personalized and secured the workspace.

Overcoming Challenges

Balancing the structure and operational needs with seating capacity was critical. We increased the power load capacity to support the extensive screen setup despite logistical challenges posed by the World Cup and a 25% rise in material costs. Additionally, we addressed the low ceiling height by creatively positioning the screens for optimal visibility.

Results

The revamped office significantly improved Malomatia’s brand identity while allowing for future changes. Natural furnishings balanced the brightness and intensity of the screens, creating a more comfortable environment.

The client reported a marked improvement in teamwork, communication, and overall staff retention. Social spaces facilitated better cross-team interactions, solving previous issues of crowdedness and lack of social areas.

This project positioned Malomatia as a leader in technological innovation, boasting the most advanced office setup in Qatar. The industry response was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the successful blend of functionality, technology, and aesthetics. Our client’s satisfaction is a testament to Daya’s ability to deliver exceptional interior design and fitout solutions that meet and exceed expectations.
